About International Chiropractors Association

Founded in 1926 by Dr. B.J. Palmer, the developer of chiropractic, the International Chiropractors Association carries forward a legacy that began with Dr. D.D. Palmer in 1895. From one individual, the profession has grown to over 107,000 practitioners worldwide—a testament to Dr. B.J. Palmer's wisdom in organizing the ICA and the power of working together.

In our 100th year, we continue to advocate and, when necessary, litigate to support the chiropractic profession and quality patient care. We collaborate across the health professions to advance policies that improve access to care. We recognize that the identification and correction of subluxations through the chiropractic adjustment is both evidence-based and evidence-informed.

Our seven post-graduate councils provide advanced learning in fitness and sports health, pediatrics, upper cervical care, applied chiropractic sciences, evidence-based practice, lifestyle medicine, and chiropractic philosophy. We offer continuing education, leadership seminars, hands-on workshops, and online programming. ICA represents practitioners, students, educators, and patients globally—because we are stronger together.
